Philly All-Day 2022


Welcome!
Please join us for an all-day singing from the Sacred Harp on Saturday October 22, 2022 at the Germantown Mennonite Meetinghouse at 21 W Washington Lane, Philadelphia PA.

Schedule
Registration will open at 9:30 with singing beginning at 10. We will break for a potluck dinner on the grounds at 12:30 and sing until approximately 3:30. The singing will be followed by an evening social for more singing and merriment. The venue is also a short drive or bike away from the beautiful Blue Bell park if folks want to stretch their legs for a bit after singing and before reconvening 🙂
Weekend events

  • Sunday, 10am-2pm Gospel brunch singing from Great Inspirational Songs by Albert E. Brumley. 365 Tree Street, Philadelphia, PA. Loaners available! Handouts of other gospel songs welcome! Bring a breakfast/brunch dish to share! (easiest street parking under I-95 at Front and Jackson, 10 mins to the East, or at 4th and Oregon, 10 mins to the south) Contact: Ben Fink at 612-840-0141, ben.fink@gmail.com.
  • Sunday, 5:30-8pm Singing from The Sacred Harp at the Exeter Friends Meeting House, about 50 miles west of Philadelphia.
Covid
We understand that singing indoors comes with risk, and appreciate that everyone needs to make their own assessments. Our precautions are subject to change, so keep an eye here for updates.
  • All who are eligible are asked to be up to date on their Covid-19 vaccinations as per our agreement with the venue. Vaccinations will be reported by honor system.
  • Please sit this one out if you have cold- or flu-like symptoms or have a close contact with covid.
  • Masks are always welcome, but optional.
  • We will be requiring attendees to test negative the morning of the singing. Singers interested in attending multiple days will need to test on each day they wish attend. Rapid tests will be available, without charge, for those in need with extras available for folks to take home to test after the singing.
  • The venue for the singing is large and well ventilated. We will keep all the windows open and run fans during the breaks.
  • If you have any Covid symptoms within 7 days of the singing please test and contact Ellie Knickman at eknickman@gmail.com and she’ll alert all who attended. Your name and personal information will remain confidential.

Accessibility
The entire space is wheelchair accessible. The bathrooms are all single stall and gender-neutral. Please refrain from wearing strong perfumes or chemical scents, as some singers may have chemical allergies/ sensitivities.
Parking
There is a small parking lot next to the church and ample street parking as well. It can be reached on several bus lines.
